Simply SMS your 13 digits ID number to 33214. You will receive a reply informaing you about the status of your driver licence.
Here are the SMS responses you should expect:
Application received: Your application was received, is still awaiting processing.
Production queue: Your drivers licence card is still being processed and manufactured.
Produced and ready for collection: Your drivers licence card will be ready for collection in 21 days.
Problem card: There is a problem with the production of your card. Please return to the testing centre.
How Long Does Licence Take To Arrive?
The South African government website indicates that it take up to six weeks for the licence to arrive. It is advisable that you keep checking your licence status after 4 weeks of application.
